UK and China System of Secondary School Comparison and Contrast

Question: Describe about the secondary school comparison and contrast of UK and China system. Answer: Introduction The England system of the secondary education, it is comprehensive, and it has a high growth exponentially. [1]Their education system is global, and their students are representative of the cross section of the Great Britain young populations, with a broad range of the abilities. A lot of the state schools are regarded as the special schools. They majorly focus to one or two areas of the curriculum. (Echevaria, Short and Powers, 2006)Thus, where a child is gifted in subject like the math, science, and the music they tend to choose their secondary school accordingly depending on their ability and interest. In the year 2010, the specialist schools received a designation from the government of the UK and extra funding to go on with their new status. In China the system of the secondary school is less complex as comparison to the England. There are public schools in each level. Nonetheless, the private schools are more regulated by the government to check on the quality of the education that is offered. Generally there is one system. There is a compulsory education that comprises of nine years, after which a student can stop the school but most go on with the education. (Cummings, 1999)As compared to the old days the education system was designed for exam purposes. In the current times the system has completely being changed so as to advocate for the quality of the education. This system has enabled the students to develop on every field and new classes have come up that enable students take part in rather than, read books all the day. The education in the secondary school is important for China and UK. The major purpose of this system is for the childrens future. (Cummings, 1999)Comparing China to the Englands current status secondary education they have more tradition, and the quality is much higher. The system of the school in China are borrowing from other of the countries since their quality is not as good as UK. [2]Despite these, there are some similarities and some differences that exist between these education systems. Some of similar components that exists between the two countries are; the education system is free, and the national application of the academic curriculum to all the school in the states. (Kempler,Teng, Dick, Taussig and Davis, 1998)The difference is the knowledge structure, the qualities of the system, and the law imposed on the private schools. On this essay, it will show the similarities and the differences that exist between the education system in UK and China. [3]It will show examples and evaluations of these differences and the similarities on the system. Besides, there will be a summary of the points that are highlighted between the two countries secondary education systems. Both of these countries have some similarities and the differences in the system of the secondary education. One of the similarity is that the education system is free in both of the countries to all the children, but nonetheless, it is important to note that it is not compulsory in China after the ninth year. (Echevaria, Short and Powers, 2006) Meanwhile, the English children they are entitled by the law to acquire the free education until they reach the age of 16 years. Moreover, the national curriculum that is used in both the countries is applied to all state schools. To another similarity is on the national tests are usually administered to all the students at the age of eleven, fourteen and sixteen years of age in both of the countries. To cater for the secondary education in UK is usually the duty of the Authorities in the local education. (Echevaria, Short and Powers, 2006)They cater for the education, and the employment of teachers. On other hand in China country, it is the role of the state who are responsible for the education in the secondary school education. Some differences also exist between the two countries; some of these differences are on the structure of the education, the facilities they have and the education quality. On point of the education structure, China secondary school is mainly divided into 2 phases. (Echevaria, Short and Powers, 2006)These phases are basically the juniors and the seniors. Essentially the students who graduate from the primary school choose on the junior middle school and take the entrance exams of the school they choose. In the event of passing they enter to the school of choice, and study, read, and learn the foreign languages. This stage is the compulsory for the education. On contrast, the school system in England comprises of three key stages. On the first stage starts from the seven year to the year nine. The second stage is from the ten year to eleventh year which are very compulsory. [4]After the student completes eleventh year they have the option to leave the school or they can complete the two remaining levels so as to study at the higher education. On the aspect of the quality of the secondary school in the England and the China, UK has a better quality of the education than the other country.(Cummings, 1999) The UK has more develop infrastructure as compared to China. The government of UK has invested heavily in the infrastructure to provide education that is high quality. In the UK they have introduced the specialist school in which the children can choose depending on their passion, and abilities. The government has also provided the funding for these schools. In contrast, China does not have such kind of schools as the England; but they have various activities in the school for the students to choose. On the last difference that exists between the two countries is on the aspect of the law system. In China, some rules are set so as to allow the private schools for both the primary and the secondary school. (Echevaria, Short and Powers, 2006) On the other hand in England, the private schools that are permitted are usually inspected by LEAs for the quality purposes. Conclusion This paper has elaborated on the differences and the similarities that exists to the two countries China and UK. [5]Some of the similarities that exists in the system are; the free education offered by the state, and the school applies a single national curriculum to all the schools of the states. While, on the differences there were aspects of the quality of the education system, the structure of the education and the system of the law in both of the countries. Nonetheless, it is important to note that in both of the countries try as much as possible to offer education that is of high quality and affordable to the children. Studying in the UK can be a good choice for a student wishing to study at abroad. Besides, the education system in the two countries have some advantages and disadvantages. Thus there is need for the exchanges of the knowledge in both of the countries. References Bray, M., Adamson, B. and Mason, M. (Eds). 2014. Organizational Change Management Case Study Report for free

Question: Discuss about the Case Study Report for Organizational Change Management. Answer: Case Background The purpose of this report is to investigate the impact of change when Rapid Supply Electronics Components Limited (RSEC) acquired Electronic Bits Fast (EBF). With the growing need to counter competition, RSEC saw acquiring EBF as an opportunity to become a market leader. RSEC plans were to integrate EBFs system and processes to improve its service delivery and products development. Though the idea was good, RSEC had carried no in-depth analysis put enough supporting systems up to ensure the success of their strategy. Just eleven months after the acquisition, the board swiftly made its intentions clear of integrating all logistics, sales and customer service functions. The board made this decision without enough expert knowledge of how to implement the system across the whole company. For a change to succeed, the board needed to bring every member of the organization the change would affect directly or indirectly on board (Simatupang, Govindaraju and Amaranti, 2016). The goal of the project was to absorb the brand values and customer service principles of EBF in addition to sales and logistics system. The integration of the three components would have created and captured value from the merger. The project aimed at introducing the RSEC staff to the newly acquired system from EBF. The operations designed to create a centralized head office for the functions. This would have helped RSEC to reduce the costs associated with these functions plus aid the company to provide services efficiently. RSEC had a good plan to counter competition from other companies though the strategy was not well thought through. The company management wanted to capitalize on an available opportunity though they were in a rush, did not use experts and had limited knowledge on the task at hand. Analysis Problem Identification RSEC faced many issues that always accompany any change implementation in any organization. The problems presented a lot of challenges to the management. The biggest problem was that rather a new system benefits the company; it just managed to help the company create losses. The problems began with poor communication of the change about to be implemented (Bernardes, 2015). The employees who were going to be affected by the new system got the news at the same time as every other employee. The employees were not consulted or given a chance to air their views. Most of the employees were against this change as they knew it would interfere with their routine and since RSEC was acquiring EBF, the new staff would have to adjust to RSECs system. The employees did not see a need for a centralized system since to them the individual departments were performing well. The change involved some employees relocating to the central office in Sydney. These employees were not alerted before the change implementation process started to give them ample time to prepare themselves and their families and to hand over pending issues. The change rendered many customers service staff redundant and thus was released by the company. Those who did not feel like moving were also left unemployed. The high turnover of customer service staff paralyzed the operations of the centralized unit. The manager was having a hard time in meeting the set goals and objectives given limited resources regarding staff. The change did not progress as well as planned due to the staff shortage and the speed of the change. In Sydney, much time is spent to train replacement agency workers leaving a lot of work undone thus tainting the brand image and increasing custome r complaints. Problem Analysis and Justification RSEC has experienced a lot of problems brought about by the need for a centralized system. The companys problems began right from the acquisition (Paun, 2015). Though the acquisition was a brilliant idea by RSEC the process involved was shoddy and could not bear any profits for RSEC. RSEC did not openly communicate its intentions to the employees because it did not want to raise alarms and needed the merger to go through smoothly. Though the management could justify its reasons not to involve its employees, the action proved costly to the organization. The employees were an integral part of ensuring smooth change transition and success of the centralized, integrated function. The board had a success roadmap which they wanted to follow. The board made prior decisions about centralizing these primary functions even before the merger was complete and all necessary systems put in place. The board appointed the business systems manager from the original RSEC Company as the change manager. The business systems manager seemed to have technical expertise necessary to facilitate the implementation of the change. This was justified to the board as the manager had collaborated with the board during the development of a change plan and they thought he had the required knowledge to oversee the implementation process (Antonellis, 2016). The board was in a hurry to implement the new changes that it got rid of redundant employees quickly even before the system was a success. The board wanted to reduce the costs incurred and because it had faith the system would succeed. In doing so, the board got rid of skilled employees who could have helped the company succeed. Some actions of the board were justified, but the impact they had on the organization were severe. The resultant effect was a company performing poorly with fewer staff and a poor communication channel in addition to p oor managerial decisions. Alternative Solutions In this section, the report tries to develop some alternative solutions to RSEC organization and their acquisition of EBF. The acquisition proved to be a good strategic move to the company. The main goal the board had in mind was to centralize the main function s and adopt a system that would make them very competitive in the market. The company could have taken up the services of a consultant to help the company determine its cost drivers and ways to reduce the production cost in addition to designing brand values and customer service principles. Consultants have adequate knowledge and could advise the management on what to do. The consultant could have carried their investigation and determine what actions the firm can undertake to become cost drivers and improve their service delivery. Alternatively, the company could have first tried if the system is capable of achieving success for the two companies (White, 2006). Before enrolling the centralized system into full operation, the company could have adopted the change and try it out for a year or more to determine its suitability. It is crucial for companies to first try out a new system and carry out an in-depth evaluation of the system before settling on the final decision. RSEC could have adopted another solution to its problems through training. The organization could have trainers in the field of customer service to equip both managers and employees of competent skills and knowledge in quality customer services. Learning and training can help an organization counter the high competition in the industry. The trainers carry out research and have the up to date knowledge of the skills in the market. The organization could have gained a lot through training. Recommendations The following recommendations constitute some of the best actions RSEC could have taken on the issue at hand. To ensure that change is successful, the organization has to involve every member of the organization. By bringing every member on board, the organization will move forward as a single unit thus minimizing the chances for change resistance (Fox and Keisling, 2016). Through minimizing resistance to change, the organization would have reduced employee turnover and retain its talented employees. Before, during and after the implementation of change, the organization needs to develop an efficient and open communication channel. Communication is crucial during change implementation. Through effective communication, stress and conflict are minimized as all the issues are handled professionally. An open communication channel with information flowing up and down the organization helps the organization implement change that will have the support of the employees. During the implementa tion process, all the queries concerning the new system and any change needed to the system are made. The organization needed a professional consultant in organization change management to oversee the whole implementation process (Charlie, Perry and Loh, 2014). Consultants are useful to management by offering expert information needed to make the change implementation process successful. The implementation process determines the viability of the change to the organization. The company needs to develop a good rapport with the employees. The Human Resource (HR) manager already recognized that the employees are feeling less valued and have no morale to work. To improve the morale of the employees, the HR department needs to offer incentives such as outdoor training and seminars, offer gifts and financial rewards and also seek the services of counselors (Jarkas and Radosavljevic, 2013). Giving the employees an opportunity to be part of a decision-making process will also motivate them especially the older RSEC staff. The replacement agency workers need to have professional on the job tra iners and not fellow employees to ensure that productivity goes on. Implementation Change implementation is a necessary process for the organization to achieve its set goals. The implementation process should involve every member of the organization directly or indirectly affected by the change about to occur. To implement the recommendations, the organization could have sent information to every staff some weeks before the change management process kick starts (Dehmlow, 2016). Every employee should know the role he or she should play in the implementation process. It is important to bring the organization together at this point. Any employee stuck should seek assistance as soon as possible. The organization should tell the truth to the employees of what the coming changes contain and what benefits will accrue to the organization and the employees from the new system. There is no need for an organization to implement change and in the process lose all the talented and skilled employees due to poor change management. The employees should know they are very important and the change is for the better. Due to the limited number of staffs, the organization needs to implement an on the job training. The new employees should learn the specifications of the job while they are doing the job. The organizations should have professional trainers at the workplace and find coaches to help equip the new staff with the required set of skills. It is crucial to the organization for production to continue so as to satisfy the clients in the market and to address any customer issues that may crop up (Du Plesis and Mabunda, 2016). The organization also needs to provide an excellent communication system that can adequately support the implementation process. The communication channels should be open and give priority to any feedback regarding the implementation process. It is worrying that the board thinks the implementation process was successful while in the division units there is chaos. A good communication channel helps the organization avoid such issues and give the board real time information to address the issues. To motivate the employees, first, the organization needs to establish a good rapport with the employees. The organization has to be swift to turn around its misfortunes and capitalize on the opportunity as earlier planned. The inducements need to help the employees focus on the work and improve their productivity. The employees need to feel like part of the organizations future and that they have job security. To employees, job security is always a priority. For this employee saw their fellow employees lose their jobs, the organization will need to reassure them of job security. The implementation process is not easy, and it needs the A-game from the management and the board. References ANTONELLIS JR., P. J. (2016). Some people believe that competitive sports both team and individual h

Some people believe that competitive sports both team and individual have no place in the school curriculum. How much do you agree or disagree? Sports especially competitive sport has a lot of benefits and good for students. However, some people think that competitive sports should be eradicated from the curriculum of school. In my perspective, I strongly disagree with that idea for the following reasons. First, competitive sports help students keep fit and stay healthy. When students play competitive sports not only their body and muscles are enhanced but also the calories which they absorbed in foods during the day will be burned. In addition, playing competitive sports prevent students from obesity and heart attack. For example, competitive sport such as basket ball, football or volleyball make players move continuously, the fat and calories in body will be burned more than sitting immovable. Some scientists proved that playing competitive sport reduce potential diseases and lengthen age. Second, competitive sports also help student build up a team spirit and bring benefits for students social well-being. When students take part in competitive sports, they have to work with their teams. This force them make friends, talk with others and cooperate with their teams members. As a result, students team work skill will be improved and increase their communication. Moreover, playing competitive sports is good opportunities for student to improve their problem-solving skills and decision-making skills. These are highly useful skills for students in future works. In conclusion, for these reasons above, I think that competitive sports should not be removed from curriculum of school because they bring a lot of benefits for students physical and mental health and they also contribute to students social well-being.

7 Facts About Bacteriophages

7 Facts About Bacteriophages Bacteriophages are bacteria eaters in that they are viruses that infect and destroy bacteria. Sometimes called phages, these microscopic organisms are ubiquitous in nature. In addition to infecting bacteria, bacteriophages also infect other microscopic prokaryotes known as archaea. This infection is specific to a specific species of bacteria or archaea. A phage that infects E. coli for instance, will not infect anthrax bacteria. Since bacteriophages do not infect human cells, they have been used in medical therapies to treat bacterial diseases. Bacteriophages have three main structure types. Since bacteriophages are viruses, they consist of a nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) enclosed within a protein shell or capsid. A bacteriophage may also have a protein tail attached to the capsid with tail fibers extending from the tail. The tail fibers help the phage attach to its host and the tail helps to inject the viral genes into the host. A bacteriophage may exist as: viral genes in a capsid head with no tailviral genes in  a capsid head with a taila filamentous or rod-shaped capsid with circular single-stranded DNA. Bacteriophages pack their genome How do viruses fit their voluminous genetic material into their capsids? RNA bacteriophages, plant viruses, and animal viruses have a self-folding mechanism that enables the viral genome to fit within the capsid container. It appears that only viral RNA genome have this self-folding mechanism. DNA viruses fit their genome into the capsid with the help of special enzymes known as packing enzymes. Bacteriophages have two life cycles Bacteriophages are capable of reproducing by either the lysogenic or lytic life cycles. The lysogenic cycle is also known as the temperate cycle because the host is not killed. The virus injects its genes into the bacterium and the viral genes are inserted into the bacterial chromosome. In the bacteriophage lytic cycle, the virus replicates within the host. The host is killed when the newly replicated viruses break open or lyse the host cell and are released. Bacteriophages transfer genes between bacteria Bacteriophages help to transfer genes between bacteria by means of genetic recombination. This type of gene transfer is known as transduction. Transduction can be accomplished through either the lytic or lysogenic cycle. In the lytic cycle, for example, the phage injects its DNA into a bacterium and enzymes separate the bacterial DNA into pieces. The phage genes direct the bacterium to produce more viral genes and viral components (capsids, tail, etc.). As the new viruses begin to assemble, bacterial DNA may inadvertently become enclosed within a viral capsid. In this case, the phage possesses bacterial DNA instead of viral DNA. When this phage infects another bacterium, it injects the DNA from the previous bacterium into the host cell. The donor bacterial DNA then may become inserted into the genome of the newly infected bacterium by recombination. As a result, the genes from one bacterium are transferred to another. Bacteriophages can make bacteria harmful to humans Bacteriophages play a role in human disease by turning some harmless bacteria into agents of disease. Some bacteria species including E. coli, Streptococcus pyogenes (causes flesh-eating disease), Vibrio cholerae (causes cholera), and Shigella (causes dysentery) become harmful when genes that produce toxic substances are transferred to them via bacteriophages. These bacteria are then able to infect humans and cause food poisoning and other deadly diseases. Bacteriophages are being used to target superbugs Scientists have isolated bacteriophages that destroy the superbug Clostridium difficile (C. diff). C. diff typically affects the digestive system causing diarrhea and colitis. Treating this type of infection with bacteriophages provides a way to preserve the good gut bacteria while destroying only the C. diff germs. Bacteriophages are seen as a good alternative to antibiotics. Due to antibiotic overuse, resistant strains of bacteria are becoming more common. Bacteriophages are also being used to destroy other superbugs including drug-resistant E. coli and MRSA. Bacteriophages play a significant role in the world's carbon cycle Bacteriophages are the most abundant virus in the ocean. Phages known as Pelagiphages infect and destroy SAR11 bacteria. These bacteria convert dissolved carbon molecules into carbon dioxide and influence the amount of available atmospheric carbon. Pelagiphages play an important role in the carbon cycle by destroying SAR11 bacteria, which proliferate at a high rate and are very good at adapting to avoid infection. Pelagiphages keep SAR11 bacteria numbers in check, ensuring that there is not an overabundance of global carbon dioxide production. People Should Get Their Animals from the Animal Shelters instead of Essay

People Should Get Their Animals from the Animal Shelters instead of Breeders - Essay Example Analyzing human love to animals Irvine stated that â€Å"there can be no single answer to the question of why people form relationships with dogs and cats because our relationships with them have not been of a universal, standard type that could generate a once-and-for-all explanation† (Irvine, 2004). Each way of understanding, describing and treating animals is brightly described throughout history. However, first of all, any person should remember that animals are our best friends which will love us in spite of everything and are incapable of betrayal. Referring to the existed situation it becomes obvious that people need to take care of somebody or something, and a dog or a cat is a good variant of an animal for adoption. Animals can make us smile, and an appeal to take an animal from the humane society/animal shelters instead of breeders becomes more and more actual nowadays. Each year, tens of thousands of homeless cats and dogs get into shelters throughout our country. R ogers mentioned that â€Å"National figures indicate that about half of the animals in shelters are euthanized for lack of good homes† (Rogers, 1998). Thus, the situation with homeless animals has achieved its peak and we should improve it as soon as possible. In such a way, I want people to know that when they buy a pet at a pet store or a breeder, they deprive the animal of the shelter a hope to gain a caring family, taste food, etc. and make it homeless again. It means that buying the pet somewhere people not only deprive a chance for shelter animals to find a new home but also support the farm for the breeding of puppies for sale.

Law of property Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Law of property - Essay Example Your principal has asked you to research and give her a brief report outlining the legal principles, and identifying the relevant cases and statutory provisions, as to whether You should include with your report (but not counting in the word limit) a list of all cases consulted (with references) and, if appropriate, statutory provisions that are closely relevant to the case, so that your principal can follow these up and give the appropriate advice. (ii) Your principal has also asked you to do a separate piece of research, unconnected with the properties above, to produce a short report on decisions in the cases in the last ten years in which the courts have considered and/or applied the concept of the termination of a lease by surrender by operation of law a) In order to determine if any person has any equitable or legal rights over Sheila's estate one has to consider if it is capable of being an equitable or legal interest. The first consideration under 1(1)(a) is that for there to be a legal interest it has to be an estate in fee simple absolute in possession and (b) A term of years absolute. The second consideration is under 1(2) which identifies only those interests which can be legal interest, which includes such examples as a legal lease of which both lease. The first question is whether Sheila's executors are bound by the leases created by Sheila. The first note to make is that all legal leases that Sheila has made are valid are binding. However, the question is whether this deeded lease is a legal lease because it is not in terms of years absolute, therefore not a legal lease; rather it is an equitable lease. Equitable leases must be registered if created after 1925 and the land is registered. If the land is not registered the n the lease is not binding if sufficient enquiry has been made and there is no obvious notice of occupation. In this case this would fail because there is a deed, which if sufficient enquiry had been made would have been findable. As we are dealing with executors of the estate they have actual notice because they hold the deed, therefore it is binding on them and any buyers because it would have to be made
